1 butynyl cyclic 3 1 2 ethanediyl acetal of formula

adding 4 N N dimethylamino phenyl magnesium brcmide reagent
to £stra 5 10 oxid 9 ll en 17 hydrnxy l7 3 fn«sthyl lbutynyl
cyclic 3 lt 2 ethan iyl aortal of creneral formula
1 and cuprous halide as a cstalyst in an eth ral organic
solvent at a temperature below 10°c stirring the mixture £or
2 to 24 hrs. at a temperature in the range of 10 tb 25°C
quenching the reaction rnlxtu e extracting the product in r
organic solvent separating the organic layer and .removing
the solvent by evaporation below roan temperature under vacuum
further purifying the crude product obtained by conventionalV column chrcmatography to obtain «6tra 5 oC hydroxy 9 em ll j3 4
